He was the husband of Nellie T. Aguirre; with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Together they had four children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
He was born November 4th, 1940, in Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico; and was the oldest of 12 children. He graduated from Jefferson High School and El Paso Community College. After serving four years in the US Air Force, he joined the El Paso Fire Department where he dutifully served 29 years before retiring from Station 11 as Captain. Post-retirement he worked for the El Paso Housing Authority for ten years. While he was very proud of his time in the Fire Department, he was most proud of being a brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was a devout catholic belonging to the San Antonio Catholic Church community. Always willing to help his neighbors he exemplified what it meant to be a friend. He will be forever remembered by his hard work ethic, loyal companionship and charismatic personality.
He is survived by his wife Nellie, their children Dinna, Charlie (Anne), Michael, grandchildren Amanda, Stephanie, Melanie, Mateo, Elena, and great-grandsons Aiden and Evan. His surviving siblings include: Lety Herrera, Tere Estergo (Juan), Marta Lopez, Chirro Aguirre Jr. (Mary Lou), Alma Alvarado, Jopy Aguirre (Bear), Josie Clesceri, Sylvia Ortega (Tito), Danny Aguirre, and Margie Aguirre (Linda). He is preceded in death by his daughter +Cecilia Aguirre, parents +Isidro and +Josephina Aguirre and baby brother +Kiko.
His Rosary will be held on Wed March 9, 2022 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina at 7 pm, visitation from 5-9. The funeral mass will be on Thursday March 10th at San Antonio Catholic Church 12 noon. Burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
