Brenda was born in El Paso, Texas, to Ollie J. and Marie D. Waters, joining her three older brothers, David, Kenneth, and Ollie Don. They will tell you that “Piglet” was a busy part of their childhood lives. As she grew up, you could always find with her mother on Saturdays and Sundays running around the church house. She was a lifetime member of Visitors Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she served as the past Missionary President. Brenda has two children and was married to Jeff Livingston for several years which gained her two fluffy Teacup Poodles (Bruno & Brutus).
She attended and graduated from Bel Air High School and went on to achieve her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from El Paso Community College. Her administration skills were honed over 25 years while working at the El Paso Country Club, where she worked as the Membership Director. She really loved meeting and talking to people. Her time at El Paso Country Club were some of the best times of her life. She truly loved working there. That was her world outside of her two children and shopping.
Brenda and the ‘girls’ loved going to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, every year and sometimes twice a year until the pandemic hit. She loved to travel by car to see family and friends from Dallas, Texas, to the California coastline. How many friends will shave their head for you? Marilyn, she loved you like a sister. And Melissa she would only drink the water you sent without fussing. One of the best things that happened to her was meeting Jackie Garcia and Edward Benavides. They provided an outlet for the use of her shopping skills for dressing up and giving back to the community. You know she was the Girly Girl Classy Diva with her animal print everything from head to toe. Brenda’s angelic voice became the voice of Bazaar Model Management during fashion week and swim and cruise fashion shows, where she did the voice overs for the entire show. Her voice did what a cherry does for a sundae - it perfected the show. Brenda’s assistance backstage was impeccable in keeping the models in perfect order as they were dismissed onto the runway.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie J. Waters and Marie D. Waters and ex-husband Jeff Livingston. She is survived by her son Brandon Ranard Nailing, her daughter Inez Marie Hood and her brothers: David J. Waters, Kenneth L. Waters, Sr. (Deborah) all from Highland, California, Ollie D. Waters (Zerrie) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and four nephews Michael W. Waters (Yulise) of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth L. Waters, Jr. of Los Angeles, California, Jared Tarver and Elijah Joseph of Highland, California; four grandnephews – Jeremiah, Jordan, Jamari, and Justus, two grandnieces – Liberty and Hope; two grand fur babies – Petey Pete and Maxwell, and a host of relatives and friends across the southwest.
