Benny Dale Hoover, 73, was called peacefully to heaven on November 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Benny was born on September 21, 1949, in Rydell, Arkansas to Moses Mack Hoover and Maxine Cullipher Hoover.
Ben attended Coronado High School in El Paso, Texas, graduating in 1967. He met and married his beloved wife Constance (Connie) Hoover in 1970 and adopted her two daughters Paula and Wendi. They soon expanded their family welcoming son Brian and daughter Kirsten.
As a child and teenager, Ben spent his time playing baseball and football along with his brother Charles, and his father as coach and mentor. As an adult, he enjoyed watching sports and supporting UTEP football and basketball, along with coaching little league for the Westside Cowboys for his son Brian. In the mid to late 1980’s, Benny enjoyed playing golf every Sunday with his friends, and later when he was no longer able to play sports, he watched games on the television.
Ben opened his masonry business, Hoover Masonry Inc., in 1978 with his wife Connie as office manager. He began the business with only himself and one field employee. Over time, the business expanded into a remarkably successful commercial masonry company that provided well for his family. Throughout El Paso and Fort Bliss, you will find countless commercial buildings and schools that possess their high standards and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, in 2012, Ben was compelled into early retirement due to suffering a stroke and was forced to close Hoover Masonry Inc. permanently.
Benny enjoyed keeping up with his high school friends, meeting for weekly lunches and cruising on his Harley. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Benny was good-natured and often would give and do for friends and family out of love and the kindness of his heart. Benny, Dad, Papa touched many lives and will be missed always.
Ben is survived by his children Paula Rene Hoover, Brian Scott Hoover and wife Laura Beth Hoover; Kirsten Rebecca Claridge and husband Cash Tye Claridge; his grandchildren, Kaitlynne Leigh Shepard and family, Brandi Denise Taylor and family, Ryan Michael Martin, Tyler Joaquin Jackson, Kathryn Alexandra Von Dasing, Tye Kaleb Claridge, Shaylen Briann Claridge and Julia Brianne Hoover, four great-grandchildren; his brother Charles Hoover and wife Nancy Peters; niece Megan Zieglar and family, nephews Cory Hoover and wife Debra Hoover, Tyson Hoover, wife Jennifer Hoover and family; Todd Zieglar, wife Jessica Zieglar and family; and many many friends.
