Benito G. Solis left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2018. He was born on March 21, 1947. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated son and caring brother to whom family meant everything. As a life-long educator, he was a devoted teacher, counselor and a trusted friend. He spent most of his adult and professional life in Sonora, Tx. faithfully serving his community and those most in need of his love, attention and support. He was multi-talented and skilled, as he also taught tennis, drivers education, provided GED services for the entire Region 15 area and his work with the Vaqueros, a camp for boys. Ben will mostly be remembered for his endearing smile, his never give-up attitude, his love for education and his students. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose P. Solis (Apa Chino), his mother Josefa G. Solis (Ama Pepa) and his sister-in-law Ida Solis. He is survived by his wife Lori , son Joe and grandsons, Adam Christian, Alec Tre and Austin Cash. He is also survived by his brothers Elias (Lynn), David (Yolanda), Alfredo (Jesusita), Elfida Esparza (Caesar), Nancy Salgado (Henry) and Ignacio.
Visitation: Monday September 17, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm at Crestview Funeral home (1462 N.Zaragoza Rd.).
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 10:00 am at San Felipe De Jesus Catholic Church (401 Passmore Rd. 79927).
Interment: Ft. Hancock Cemetery, 400 West Santa Teresa Street, Fort Hancock, Texas, 79839.
