Baltazar, born July 13, 1929, in Fort Stockton, TX, was never shy to hard work up to his last days. As a young lad, he took to construction, working as an apprentice for carpenters and plumbers as the enlargement of Fort Bliss and McGreger began. His love for construction grew as he attended vocational school and founded Nanez Construction. He went on to build many local structures, such as The Great American in Vinton and Anthony Dairy Queen. He did some work at St. Anthony’s Church, La Feria grocery store in Anthony, TX, just to name a few.
One of the most proud structures he built was the homes for his family members, as he took pride in knowing he fulfilled his purpose of providing roofs over the heads of his most loved. His favorite past-times were horse racing, raising of ranch animals, boating, fishing, playing pool, cards, and talking about the good old days with any family member(s) in his presence at the time.
Baltazar was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a pillar of the community. He will leave a local imprint and will be treasured by many. His unwavering love and devotion to his family will be honored and cherished throughout generations to come.
