I met Austin at a Foosball tournament in Las Vegas a few years ago where he joined us in an impromtu game of Yatzi several of us were playing...what a great kid.  Polite friendly, good sense of humor.   I ran into him again a year or two later at a tournament in Austin, and halfway though a singles match we were playing against each other we both realised who each other was as we remembered the Yatzi game.  We stopped our match and had a laugh and reminiced.  I can't tell you how saddened I am to have heard of his passing.   Though I only knew him a little, I liked him a lot...that seemed to be the way of him.

Dearest Wanda & Pearl,
I was extremely saddened to learn that it was your "loved one" that had left us so suddenly.  I never met Austin, but am sure that he was a wonderful person because the two of you are who you are.  As Wanda's teacher and a dear friend of Pearl's, I "feel" for you in ways you probably understand well.  
My son, Brian Kelly, was taken from us December 27, 2009.  No one can begin to understand the raw feelings one has after a loss like this.  Am sure it is especially difficult since you lost your husband, Wanda.  One wonders how much we can take, but remember that God is merciful.  
I want you both to know my thoughts and prayers will be with you daily and that Angels are embracing you both at this time.

One minute we can carry on with our lives like if nothing happened, but the next minute we are missing your every detail. Sometimes I think to myself why was it you, instead of me. Our grieving your family's grieving is so strong and heartbreaking. We think of the past days of your life and we remember all the good things. Even the little things that didn't mean much it means a lot to each and every single one of us. Its just I cannot believe you have fled our lives. Your embrace, your sweet happy presence is just a memory. All we have is memories good ones and bad ones. We will surely treasure both so very much. I feel the pain for your family, it showed so heart throbbing at the (well you know). All the tears pouring from our eyes and dropping to the ground all the sound of a roaring thunderstorm. It is really hard to just go to school not see you at all. The classes I had with you are now sad, and heart breaking. We miss you, I miss you. Wish it didn't have to turn out this specific way. All I can say now is I hope you are free from worries, free from pain and with your father cutting it up and having a ball=). I never meet this young man or his family but I just lost my step daughter last month in a tragic accident in El Paso and I have a good idea of the pain you all feels and the question of why. In the pictures you can tell that he was a good and happy young man so remember him like that. Today was a very difficult day for the student's of Anthony High School! For many of you that don't know going to school in Anthony is like spending the day with a brother or sister!  You are not just a friend but family!  It is with deep saddness that I send this message to Wanda and Dallas.  Austin was great and wonderful young man! He will be missed but never forgotten! Austin when i found out that you were no longer with us i broke down into tears. I know that we weren't ever that close but i am so glad that i had the chance to know you. You lighted up everyone's life and you sure brought light to my life. I will always remember you and your Jesus shoes. Whenever i wear my Cesar shoes i will think of you. Now when we walk down the hallways of school we won't hear your laugh or see your great smile. Now its quiet and all we hear are the tears falling to the ground because you are gone. Austin never ceased to amaze me.  Everytime we had a conversation I walked away thinking...Damn that kid is awesome!  Smart and cool, hillareous and confident from the time he was a toddler. Over the past week my life has changed drastically. I consider Austin both my best friend and brother. Ever since I came to Anthony in 2003, he always seemed to be there for me. I'm going to miss his sense of humor that never faltered and always made me laugh, no matter what I was going through that day. Videogames were always a large part of his life and also mine, and I thought it was awesome when he told me that he got an Xbox 360. Whenever we played together, it was always fun. He has influenced me heavily in things like music, which he was always fluent in. When I started drumming at the beginning of this year, I looked up to him(and was determined to try to be better than him) and I still do. The    past seven years have been the most memorable in my life, just because of Austin. I will always miss him and the times we had.

I live in the same neighborhood where Austin lived. He is my sons best friend. I have seen him play as a little boy. He was such a cute little boy. Our neighborhood has not been the same without Paul and will never be the same without Austin. The sadness my son has for Austin is almost unbearable. But his many memories are  priceless. Wanda, Dallas and family, There are just no words that can express the way I feel today, the sadness for all of you and the hurt you all are feeling is overwhelming and to let you know how much we love you and am here for you.  Reflecting on my memories of when Austin came to visit us in Hancock, NH the enjoyment of having him here was one of the greatest pleasures we could have ever had.  He went fishing with Uncle Bob and cooked the best grilled chicken dinner for us and other relatives, like he was a true chef.  He told me my pancakes were better than "IHOPS".  I loved his Unique personalty and how he was such a comedian and made us all laugh.  He was unique in every sense of the word.  If I had to say anything to Wanda and Dallas and their family I guess it would be how it was such a priviledge to know Austin and hope they can find some comfort in knowing how much he was loved along with how much his Dad was loved by us all.  We have known this family since before Wanda was born and the love we feel for all of them is great.  Gramma Pearl and Grampa John have been our dear friends since we all were babies.
