Arturo "Tury" Gonzalez

Arturo Gonzalez, 77, passed away peacefully, Thursday February 18, 2010. He was born in El Paso, TX on March 6, 1932 to Joseph & Maria S. Gonzalez. He was retired from El Paso School District Transportation Dept. for many years. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1951 and also served in the Marines Reserve until 1956. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Aunt Nana and uncle Jose. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Gonzalez, sisters, Sara Beltran & Belen Canales. Cousin Ralph Ramirez. Sisters-in-law Nena (Manny Gonzalez) and Ofelia C. Ramos. Also many nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Doctors & staff at Sierra Medical and Del Sol Medical. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00p.m. at Del Angel Martin Funeral Home, 3839 Montana Ave. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1315 Travis. Interment will follow to Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers, Manny Gonzalez, Louie Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Ralph Ramirez, Tony Candelaria, Alex Saenz, and Juan Solorzano.
