Antonio Payan Uribe, 84, passed away on February 27, 2018. He shared his life for over 60 years with his devoted wife Socorro Hernando Uribe, who survives him. He was preceded in death by his two brothers (Estanislao and Jesus) and a grandson Matthew Santos Uribe-Gamboa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister Maria Refugio Uribe; three children Yvonne (Ron) Vandiver, Ysela (Ramiro) Gamboa, and Antonio Uribe, Jr. (Bart Forbes); three grandchildren Kevin (Stefanie) Vandiver, Amy (Brandon) Behrens, and Michael Uribe-Gamboa; and three great-grandchildren Presley, Aevin and Kyle. He served as an anti-aircraft artillery gunner in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and worked for over 45 years at the El Paso International Airport. He was active with his church and AARP activities. He was an excellent cook, baker, artist, and fisherman extraordinaire. Visitation will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 from 5-9PM, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., with a Vigil at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11:45AM at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr. Committal Service will follow at 1PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
