Anne Walthour Stewart, 99, died peacefully on July 16, 2015. She was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania June 30, 1916. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College with a degree in education and began her career in a one room school house. During World War II she worked in Washington, D.C. as a telegraph operator for Western Union. She married James Stewart in El Paso in December 1942. Her career became focused on family and volunteering. She was a room mother, troop leader for both Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girls, active in the El Paso Women’s Club, Church of St. Clement, and a longtime member of P.E.O. Anne was preceded in death by her husband James. Anne will be remembered for her faith, integrity, and love of family. She is survived by daughter Judy Drotman and her husband Robert of Plano, Texas; daughter Virginia “Micki” Kintner and her husband James of Montrose, Colorado. She has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful for the loving kindness of Adam MC Care Foster Home. The staff made a difference in our lives in ways big and small. Memorial services will be held at Church of St. Clement on August 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
