Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua on May 25, 1936. She was raised in Colonia Bella Vista. As a child, Angela enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball. Her favorite hobby was to roller skate. Growing up, her best friends were Ana, Micha, and Maria de Jesus (Chuya). While residing in Colonia Bella Vista, Angela met who would become her husband of 60 years, Alejandro Rodriguez Ortiz.
In the spring of 1957, Alejandro and Angela joined in civil matrimony on April 13 in Anapra, NM. On May 26, 1957, Alejandro and Angela joined in holy matrimony at Iglesia del Rosario located in Colonia Bella Vista in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
Angela was employed for 15 years by Billy the Kid textile factory located on Paisano Dr. in downtown El Paso, TX. She then stayed home and took care of her family. Her favorite hobby was gardening. She had a variety of plants and flowers inside and outside her home. She also took great pleasure in dancing and going to the Sunland Park Casino. She enjoyed watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune even though she did not speak or understand English.
Angela is survived by her four children, Maria de Jesus Carreon, Sylvia Munoz, Norma Jones, and Alejandro Rodriguez Jr; 9 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Elvira Alvarado Soria and Ana Maria Alvarado Diaz; 1 brother Daniel Alvarado Diaz. She was preceded by her husband Alejandro Rodriguez Ortiz; mother Rafaela Diaz Alvarado and father Dionisio Alvarado Dominguez; two sisters Elisa Alvarado Rubio and Guadalupe Alvarado Aguayo.
Our loving mother was humble and hard working. She was witty, vibrant, and full of life. Our Grama Angie, as some of her great-grandchildren lovingly called her, was the life of the party. She will be greatly missed and our family is comforted to know that she is smiling from heaven in the company of the love of her life.
