Ana Maria Mena passed away on October 11, 2012 at the age of 92. She retired from Billy the Kid Manufacturing after 42 years of service, where she made and kept many of her lifelong friends. She lived a fiercely, independent, active and productive life. She touched many people along the way. Her greatest joys were her family, outings with friends and most especially helping and giving generously to anyone in need. One of her most beautiful traditions was to sew and handmake personal gifts throughout the year, and would personally wrap and deliver them to her nearly one hundred friends and acquaintances at Christmas time. Our mother enjoyed a long and happy life thanks to her wonderful neighbors, her extended family in Chihuahua, and her closes and dearest friend, Chalia Mizcles. Chalia was a Godsend during our mother’s many years of illness. They traveled and socialized together, enriching her final years. We are eternally grateful to Chalia for her friendship, love and devotion. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Davita- West Texas and Cielo Vista for their loving care and professional attention. The family also thanks her outstanding doctors: Dr. Uri Caballero, Dr. Abraham Gonzalez and Dr. Rey Rosario. We also thank the nurses and staff at Las Palmas ER, and most especially the dialysis unit nurses at Las Palmas. She is survived by her two children Jesus Mena and Terri Ochoa, son-in-law David Ochoa, and grandchildren Meaghan Mena, Ninamarie Ochoa and Noah Ochoa. Visitation will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 from 4-9pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3829 Montana Ave. with Rosary at 7pm. Mass on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama Ave.
