“She was someone who wasn’t born in luxury,
she was someone who wrestled her own dreams into reality.”
Ana Maria Alemán died in the arms of her daughter on January 27, 2016.
Ana Maria was born in Parral, Chih. and was adopted by Luis and Isabel, who loved their daughter very much. Her mother, Isabel, passed away when Ana Maria was only 15 and her father, Luis thought it would be best for her to return to her biological family.
But, that did not last long. Instead, Ana Maria lived with her caring Aunt Soledad and cousin, Eva in Jimenez, Chih.
After a few years, Ana Maria decided to come to Cd. Juarez. In Juarez, Ana Maria worked for Almacenes Carolina where she met the owners of Del Norte Sporting Goods. They hired her and brought her over to the US to work for them.
A voracious learner, she earned her GED while working as a daycare worker and later studied to become a nurse assistant. She retired as a home health care worker. But retirement did not last long. She became a Foster Grandparent, and volunteered at many schools, daycare centers and at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Ana Maria is survived by her daughter Ana Isabel, son-in-law Louie and a grandson Camilo Salazar.
Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Central.
