Adele attended Loretto School, Hillside Elementary, Ross Jr. High School, W.H. Burges High School, and University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. She began her career in criminal justice as an El Paso County Probation Officer but soon after began working for the U.S. Probation Office Western District of Texas where she retired as a Supervising U.S. Probation Officer. She always told me if I can turn around one person, I made a difference.
She loved to travel with her sister, whether it was a road trip to Hatch to buy chili, to New York and New England to spend time with family, but her all-time favorite was Alaska which is evident by the over 14 trips and at one time she wanted to retire in Alaska but El Paso was home and even though she loved Alaska – it was too far from family and friends.
Adele always put others before herself, going to extreme lengths to help those in need, regardless of financial or physical strains. She loved her dogs, giving them a life that some humans would love to have and they loved her unconditionally. She always adopted rescues either from Animal Rescue League of El Paso or from the Heart Rescue.
She loved the Hallmark channel – especially Christmas time – as soon as the movies came on – oh my gosh – Christmas 24/7. The values, the peace, the lifestyle of yester year when people were kind, strangers said good morning, was all something that gave her peace and hope.
If she was your friend, she was your friend for life. Because of what we went through with our parents, Adele cared for those individuals in her neighborhood. She would call on her more senior neighbors, to check on them and their well-being. Adele had trouble saying no, just very giving.
She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Leshman and father Joseph Galante. Adele is survived by her sisters Loretta Lynn Galante and Dr. Monica Liza Galante, extended family and friends.
