William Arthur Stevenson

William “SMOKES” Arthur Stevenson, age 64 of El Dorado passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at John R. Hospice House after battling lung cancer. He was born on December 26, 1956, in El Dorado, AR to Dollie Manning Stratton and the late Harry F. Stevenson Sr.

Smokes was of the Baptist faith and had worked for the El Dorado Water Co., Arkansas Forestry Comm. and Union Co. Shop, he retired at the age of 55. He was a retired firefighter of the Old Union Volunteer Fire Dept, Old Union Water Association Board retired member, and was a member of the Apple Dumpling Gang (ADG) motorcycle club. He loved to deer hunt, go camping, was a Mark Martin Nascar fan, he loved going to the yearly Mark Martin Fan Day Event in Batesville, AR and loved riding on his “Honda Davidson” trike with his ADG motorcycle family and friends.

Smokes was preceded in death by his grandparents, his dad, Harry F. Stevenson Sr., Step dad, Lyndal L. Stratton; step sister, Roxie Stratton, brother, Ricky "Pines" Stevenson, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include; his wife, Debby Vestal Stevenson of 37 years, son, Zachrey Stevenson, daughter, Brandy Stevenson; granddaughter Sidda Silmon; grandson Kace Silmon; mother, Dollie Stevenson Stratton; sister, Deanie Connor (husband, Charles) all of El Dorado; step sister, Pam Stratton Burns (husband, Rex) of Houston, TX; niece, DeAnn Connor Cates, nephews, Chuck Connor, (wife, Brandi), Mark Connor, along with numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to recognize Life Touch Hospice of El Dorado and his nurses, Renae Robnett, Chris Smith and Sheena Kimball for their loving care during his stay.

There will be a memorial visitation on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 6-7 pm and memorial service at 7 pm at the College Avenue Church of Christ, 1817 North College Avenue El Dorado, AR.
