Wallace Keith Holmes

Born on August 29, 1935 in Dumas City, AR; he was the son of Donald Ennis Holmes and Margaret Dollar Holmes. He was a maintenance manager for Monsanto Chemical and Country Pride and retired from Ensco. Wallace was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church and Gideons Union County Camp. He loved fly fishing, woodworking and the outdoors.

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mickey Holmes and a sister Virginia Ables.

Survivors are his wife of 58 ½ years Julie Anne Thomas Holmes; sons Keith Edward Holmes (Lequitta) of Henderson, TX, Rev. Kevin Scott Holmes of Tyler, TX, & Kent Leslie Holmes (Lisa) of Junction City, AR; a brother, Glenn Holmes of El Dorado; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 in the chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Conner Garlington & Rev. Sam Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
