He retired from Georgia Pacific after 32 years to continue his life’s ministry in the Assembly of God Churches. He loved fishing, preaching, singing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother, four sisters, one great grandson, Tyler Scott Ables; one great granddaughter, Cassie Anna Murphy and one son-in-law, Dwayne Miles.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, June Ables; one son, Rev. Lynn Ables (Sandy) of Hot Springs; three daughters, Tracy Jerry (Mark) of El Dorado, Kathy Miles and Stacy Wilson both of Crossett, AR; one brother, Vernon Ables (Carlyn); eleven grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Pickett Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Ables and Daniel Ables officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
Nine grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Daniel Ables, Jonathan Ables, Braden Ables, Craig Miller, Jason Miller, Clint Jerry, Blake Jerry, Doug Murphy and Chuck Murphy.
