Dr. Stephen Tabe Tabe, age 59 of El Dorado, AR; died on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Ouachita County Medical Center. Born on September 6, 1956 in the village of Mfuni; he was the son of Stephen Njock Tabe and Regina Ebot Tabe.
He grew up in Kumba, Southwest Province Cameroon. Dr. Tabe was a gifted student and a man of many talents; one of which was playing soccer. While earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, he played the position of forward/striker for Rutgers University. He chose to pursue a career in medicine and graduated in 1992 from Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Tabe began his training in family medicine at AHEC- South Arkansas in July of 1993. He completed his residency in June of 1996. He achieved the honor of Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice in 1997 and maintained the highest level of medical education throughout his career. Dr. Tabe served as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas for 19 years. He also served as Chief of Staff from April 2004 to March 2005. As a physician, he provided the highest standard of care with great wisdom and an incomparable work ethic.
Dr. Tabe is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rosa Jimenez Tabe ; a son, Stephfan Tabe; a daughter, Daisisabell Tabe; along with parents, his brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends and colleagues from Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, and the United States.
A celebration of Dr. Tabe’s life will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1 pm in the El Dorado Conference Center with Father Edward D'Almeida officiating.
