Shirley L. Owens

Born April 3, 1936 in Union County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of H. R. and Stella Parr Pate. Mrs. Owens had been employed as a secretary at Great Lakes Chemical, West Plant and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were her sisters, Sarah Morton, Francis Winter, Mary Wester, and Becky Sgro.

Survivors include her husband, Omar Owens of Junction City; sons, Jimmy Owens (Julie) Lewisville, NC, Kevin Owens of Junction City, Jeff Owens (Anita) of Junction City; daughter, Susan Humphrey (Brian) of Pea Ridge, AR; sisters, Dovie Jones (Jimmy) of El Dorado, Tressie Mitchell of Ashdown; brother, Wylie Pate of El Dorado; and grandchildren, Garrett Owens (Molli) of Whitehouse, TX, Ross and John Owens of Lewisville, NC, Morgan, Meagan, and Michael Humphrey of Pea Ridge, AR.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. A private family graveside will be held at Hopewell Cemetery.
