Shelby Atkinson Ward Jr.

Mr. Ward was a retired supervisor at Cooper Tire in El Dorado. He had been a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He had also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were his wife, Howeleen Ward, daughters, Montie Lynn Ward and Shelly Ward.

Survivors include two sons, Shelby "Sonny" Ward, III and Michael Lynn Ward. Surviving grandchildren are Maegan Womack, Christian Ward, Lacey Ward, Jon Michael Ward, (Lauren), Shelby Ward, IV, Hunter Ward (Shelby), Houston Ward (Keelyann) along with great-grandchildren, Jaycie Womack, Graycie Womack, Kylie Ward, Ava Ward, Lilah Ward, Cannon Ward, Cypress Ward and Autumn Ward and great-great-grandchild, Montie Morris. Also surviving is a sister, Pat Murphree, sister-in-law, Patricia King and a brother-in-law, Billy Summerville.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. in Young's Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
