An Army veteran, Sammy served in the 32nd Infantry Regiment and was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with three campaign stars, United Nations Korea Medal and National Defense Medal. He worked for Texas Eastern Pipeline and retired from Crow Burlingame. He loved a good fish fry and his family very much; and was a faithful member of El Dorado Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Billy T. Daniels, Sr.; sister Eloise Daniels Tomlinson; nephews Billy Thomas Daniels, Jr., Larry Daniels, David Daniels and Sonny Tomlinson and niece Deborah Tomlinson.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ronna Stevenson Daniels; daughters Tonya Marie Daniels and Tammy Jean Daniels Brazell (Ronald); grandchildren Hunter Lee Brazell (Danielle) and Brittany Ann Brazell (fiance’ Collin Bryant); great nephews Michael Daniels, Matt Daniels and Billy Wayne Daniels.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Young's Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 11 at El Dorado Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Clark and Rev. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Pallbearers are Brad Saffold, Don Smith, Eugene Greer, Eddie Childers, Jim Staples and James Williams.
