She was born January 29, 1923, in Strong, Arkansas to Benjamin Perry and Ora Odessa Russell Williams.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Ruth was a homemaker and devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Reba Gammill and Wilma Pine; and two brothers, Charles Williams and Jimmy Williams.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Dr. Don Goodwin of El Dorado; four children, Suzanne Manis (Bob) of Mena, AR, Kerry Jackson (Charlie) of El Dorado, Don Goodwin, Jr. (Sandra) of White Oak, AR, and Becky Bays (Danny) of Homer, LA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren who spent many happy hours with their “Meme”. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Perry Williams (Helen) of El Dorado, and Edwin Williams (Inez) of Benton, AR.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, at St. Paul United Methodist Church under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors of El Dorado. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 3, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
