She was born August 17, 1927 in Strong, Arkansas, the daughter of the late George Asbury and Ida Ethel Lewis Burson. Reba lived most of her adult life in Norphlet, Arkansas, where she was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was active in WMU for a number of years and always available to help out around the church in any way. That included deep cleaning the kitchen, which in her own words was one of her favorite things to do! She always had a heart for helping others.
Her working career began in the mid-1940’s at MacMillian Refinery in Norphlet, where she met and later married Willie Squyres. She was later employed by Red Star Drug Store in Norphlet, Gathright’s Clothing in El Dorado and retired in June, 1978, after a long tenure at Prescolite Lighting El Dorado.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 51 years, Willie Ralph Squyres; two brothers, Arnold Burson and John Burson, three sisters, Sula Jones, Mary Hauboldt and Christine Warner; and a beloved son-in-law, Jimmy Flournoy.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Linda Brown (Johnny), Norphlet and Vicki Flournoy, Parkers Chapel. Four grandchildren – Clint Brown, Houston, Texas; Ramona Flournoy Murray, Hot Springs; Kirk Hudson (Kristie) and Lance Flournoy, Parkers Chapel; also four great grandchildren - Bradley Murray, Alex Murray, Josh Hudson (Holly) and Madison Hudson; and recently a great, great grandchild, Aubree Claire and another one expected in September. She is also survived by her youngest sister Ann Sutton lives with her daughter, Suzann Vickers in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mother loved flowers and feeding the birds and humming birds. She also loved working outside in her yard, as many neighbors can attest. After her retirement she spent many, many happy hours doing just that!

We are also very thankful for the role LifeTouch Hospice played near the end of Mom’s life.
