She was a basketball star in high school, a Southern State College Mulerider, and she was of the Assembly of God faith and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mary worked as an office worker for Sterling Department Stores. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Arthur Bourn; two brothers, James “Humpy” Hines, Charles “Cotton” Hines; and son-in-law, Bobby Dirk Platt.
Survivors include her son, Randy Bourn (Lisa); two daughters, Teresa Hull, Diane Bourn all of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Jon Bourn, Jacob Hull (Courtney), Jessica Hull, Tammie Thompson, Chase Johnson; four great grandchildren, Cameron Huitt, Preston Huitt, Peyton Hull, Brinlie Ferguson; sister, Frances “Tiny” Greenlee; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 Monday, April 14, 2014, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgha Cemetery in Emerson, AR under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
