Marcia E. Walker

Marcia E. Vernon Walker, 68 of Calion, went to her Heavenly home Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born August 12, 1945, to Robert Aurelius and Myrtis Mae Hopkins Vernon in El Dorado, AR.

She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Marcia worked as a telephone operator for EL-Tel Bell Pioneers for 22 years and also worked at Southwestern Bell and AT&T. She worked for Dr. Johnny Canady for 12 ½ years, and retired in 2010 from BancorpSouth in order to fish and spend more time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; and her loving husband, William M. “Buddy” Walker.

She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Walker of Calion; two grandchildren, Stormie Albritton, Cole Albritton of Calion; two sisters, Linda SeWell of El Dorado, Emily Wages of Tyler, TX; one nephew; three nieces; and seven grand-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. tonight at Young’s.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Womack and Rev. Lyle Hern officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
