Born March 18, 1933 in Bastrop, LA he was the son of William Perry and Bettie Mae Wilson Singleton. Mr. Singleton was a graduate of Louisiana Tech with a BS in accounting and was retired after 30 years of employment with Murphy Oil Corp.
Lester served in the U. S. Army for two years in West Berlin, Germany, and had been a member of the El Dorado Masonic Lodge. Some of his most prized pastimes were fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and serving The Lord through the church. He enjoyed Civil War history and reading stories about WWII, and he had great respect and concern for soldiers in the line of duty. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were his brother, Perry Singleton, sisters Roberta Carver and Susie White, one nephew and one niece.
Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Frankie Sharon Singleton, sons, Dale Singleton (Becky) of El Dorado, and Bruce Singleton (Elizabeth Wallace) of Dallas, TX along with grandchildren, Heidi Lynn (Michael), Caroline, and Emily, great-grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, Merritt, Mabry and Makenna, one nephew, three nieces and many friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022 at Young's Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Cody Lain officiating, assisted by David Voss. Cremation services entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
