Kenneth Ray Short, age 93, of Huttig, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation. His message to his sons is, “Your mother and I will be there waiting on you. I am proud of your accomplishments.”
Born on December 25, 1929 in Bradley, AR. He was the son of Oris Winter Short and Josie Preston Short. Kenneth served in the Arkansas National Guard and was a retired Captain of the El Dorado Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Juanita Short; daughter, Robin Delaine Conway; sister, Lorene Deckard; and his brothers, Paul, Benny and Billy Short.
Survivors are his sons, David Short (Connie) of El Dorado and Danny Short of Felsenthal; sister, Ruby Lee Cameron of Texas; two grandchildren, Wendi Golmon (Landon) and Luke Short (Rosemary) of El Dorado; great grandchildren, Dakota Short, Wesley Short and David Golmon.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Young's.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2023 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Todd Gunter officiating. Interment will be at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
