Dear Jane and family.. 
I just found out about Joe’s sudden death and wanted to reach out to express my sincere sympathy.. loved the pictures.. especially the cute young couple in the canoe!! Then the 45th Anniversary pic.. the older version of cute!!❤️
So very sad and I know he will be missed each and every day by you guys and in the community he gave so much of his time and energy to.

I worked with Joe for many years at the South Plant. He was a good friend and co-worker, we worked together on many project's. Joe was great to work with, I will remember him and miss the times we spent working together at the South Plant.

I am very sorry to hear that Joe is no longer with us. I had the pleasure of working with him. He was always soft spoken, quiet and calm. He was a good man and will be missed by all that knew him. The family has our prayers for peace and God's comfort.

Joe was a member of the back row pack at Healthworks Fitness Center with me.  Saved bikes for each other in RPM, weights readied for Body Pump Class along with catching up with others’, families and friends.  He introduced us to Swiss Chard and kept us supplied from one of his favorite pass times of working in the garden.  Joe was a blessing and inspiration to all, May God be with his family.

I am so saddened by the news of Joe's passing, but so grateful for having spent time with him and Jane during our time at El Dorado High and more recently at our reunions.  His kind spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed.  Jane, you and your family are in my heart.  Sending much love your way.

I had the awesome pleasure of meeting Joe about six months ago when he became a member of the Advisory Board of El Dorado Connections. Though he was quiet and somewhat reserved, immediately I knew Joe was a very intelligent and well educated gentleman. We will miss him! We pray for strength and comfort to his entire family. Dear Joe, I am writing this letter since I have your forwarding address above. You are no doubt watching over my shoulder as I type along with Grandpa Paul our Dad at your side. They say the Apple does not fall far from the tree and you proved it true once again. Give the tree a hug for me while you are at it! We were roommates many years in our youth with only fond memories and shared adventures, camping off trail, hunting ducks, catching snakes, trapping possums, catching fish, canoeing waters here and there. I still have my canoe and you yours which I found just like mine, a BlueHole from TN! I want to be buried in mine, maybe you did too, I would not be surprised! They are nearly indestructible and so easy to load, drop and portage clean rivers far into nature and away from the pollution of life, noise, fast food, street lights to see clearly into the heaven of stars, Milky Way, and throne of our marvelous Creator.  Obviously, your work on earth was done to be called to His mansion in the sky while those left behind like me can follow your example. Everyone knows you were the favorite uncle who pushed the swings, drove the boat, pulled the skiers, hooked the worms, lit the fireworks, host family gatherings, played games, all sorts.  Better yet, you did the loving things for those not your kin by volunteering to chair the food pantry, organize pickleball matches, share homegrown produce, serve precinct voting and more, much more in secret to whoever was in your path. It makes me and many others proud to know cheerful and selfless service to those in need or at play.  I will miss the weekly honest and humorous banter by text of all things sports particularly our favorite teams, Hogs and Vols. I may not get the text in writing but I will still laugh or affirm since we thought so much alike. I have some work yet to approach the legacy you leave for all of us and so also with Daddy Paul. I will watch for you when you flutter into view perhaps as a pair. Brother Tom

I remember the first time Uncle Joe visited us in our Upstate NY home. In the middle of the night, the volunteer fire department's alarms went off, recalling volunteers to reapond to a fire. Apparently it was the same alarm sound they use for tornadoes in El Dorado. Uncle Joe ran down the hall, yelling that a tornado was coming and we needed to get to the basement. My dad, his big brother, calmed him down and explained that it wasn't a tornado. It was such a simple thing, a misunderstanding really, but he was always so thoughtful and considerate of others. And I always loved that story because it was such a good example of how mindful he was about helping and protecting his loved ones. We adored Uncle Joe.

Joe was a great brother-in-law! He purely loved his family that I had the privilege to watch grow since the day he married my youngest sister. So many great memories throughout the years. Too many to put on here. I lost my fruitcake loving buddy. Don't find many of us around.  Joe, thank you for loving my sister and raising a beautiful family.  You have left a big hole in our family but your memories will be with us always as you will always be in our hearts.
