He was born March 6, 1947 to Ocie Lonzo and Virginia Johnson Wilson in Junction City, AR. He was a graduate of College of the Mainland in Texas City, TX. J.D. worked at Lion Oil as a gauger and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He served for over 20 years as a Justice of the Peace for Union County and was a Little League coach for all three of his sons for over 20 years. J. D. loved hunting and fishing with his family and had served his country in the U. S. Army.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, James Wilson, Marion Wilson, Tommy Wilson; and sister, Nancy Ritchey.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Wilson of Three Creeks; children, Johnny Wilson (Vicki) of Junction City, Greg Wilson (Candy) of Buna, TX, Lori Hudson (Craig) of Lawson, Caleb Wilson (Lisa) of Junction City; brothers, Maurice Wilson of Junction City, Jarrell Wilson (Bet) of Lillie, LA, Woody Wilson (Helen) of Lillie, LA, William Wilson (Joann) of Lockhart, LA, Richard Wilson (Beth) of Pine Bluff; sisters, Dorothy Spooner of Junction City, Bobbie Orr of El Dorado, Julia Meador (Freddie) of Junction City, Judy Carter-Franklin (Dale) of Ft. Smith; grandchildren, Jordan Hudson, Blake Wilson, Jace Hudson, Bryan Thibodaux, Michael Thibodaux, Caleb Amason; and great grandchildren, Megan and Evelyn Thibodaux.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City.
Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Fout officiating. Burial, with military honors will follow at Scotland Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
