He was born December 9, 1949, at Fincher Clinic in El Dorado to John H. and Precious Young Kennedy. He was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village. He was a former employee of Great Lakes Chemical, a pipefitter for Local 706, owner of the Old Hickory Restaurant and an employee of El Dorado Chemical. He loved fishing and cooking for his friends or family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, John William “Will” Kennedy; a granddaughter, Victoria Ashley Alexander; and a nephew, Dan Kennedy.
Survivors include four daughters, Jana Kennedy Collier of Pegram, TN, Amy Kennedy of Little Rock, AR, Sonya Hall (Buddy) of El Dorado, Stephanie McBrayer (Todd) of Conway; one son, Scott Hailey (Tina) of El Dorado; two grandson, Michael Austin Collier of Pegram, TN, Luke McBrayer of Conway; seven granddaughters, Hailey, Emily, and Avery Hall, Madison, Morgan and Sarah Hailey all of El Dorado, Kati McBrayer of Conway; one sister, Kathey Frachiseur (Kenny); one brother, Scotty Kennedy (Paula) of North Little Rock, AR; three nephews, Paul White (Danielle) of Norphlet Danielle) Heath Kennedy, Johnnie Frachiseur (Suzanne); one niece April Kennedy; one uncle, Joe Craig; several cousins; his special friends at Lakeshore RV Park in Lake Village; and other friends in the Lake Village area.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Young’s.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Holy Innocence Cemetery, in Lake Village under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. John Embrey, Pastor of the Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Life Touch Community Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730.
