Jerry E. Smith, 82, of El Dorado, AR, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 in El Dorado surrounded by his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. Born on July 7, 1937 in Houston, TX; he was the son of Lawrence A. (Buddy) Wakefield and Margaret E. Wakefield.
He was the retired owner of Mid States Pipe Fabricating, Inc. for 35 years. Jerry loved being a member of Harvester's Sunday School Class and Legacy Church Family. Prior to relocating to Hot Springs, he attended El Dorado First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado for 15 years. He was a devoted husband father, grandfather and great grandfather and loved by all. He enjoyed traveling, boating, salt water fishing, building and flying Remote Control Airplanes, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters Judy L. Hooper and Linda L. Jones, all of Houston, TX.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Lynnie J. (Lynn) Smith of Hot Springs; daughters, Vicki McElwee (Gary) of El Dorado, Cheryle Bagley (Eddie) of El Dorado, Savana Smith all of El Dorado; two stepdaughters, Ashley Jones (Lance) of Stevensville,Montana and Amber L. Pierce (Bryan) of Conway, AR; grandchildren Jennifer Sweet (Jake); Brittney Helton (Zack); Emma Gandy and Ashlyn Pierce; great grandchildren Hunter, Haelyn, Kenzlie, and Kylan, and two nieces Melinda Boducoglu and Stephanie Strange both of Houston, TX.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time.
