James Edward Lambert, 74 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born September 23, 1938, to Leroy Ashton Daniel and Willie Mae Hollingsworth Lambert in Monticello, AR.
He worked as a poultry farmer for 23 years and was the former manager of Garrett Furniture on N. Washington in El Dorado. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as hobbies and was an expert whistler. He loved the Lord and his family. James was a member of Lisbon United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and one sister, Rosie Lee Murphy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Ruby Carol Swilley Lambert; son, Todd Lambert (Regina) all of El Dorado; four brothers, Aubrey Lambert (Ruth), Bill Lambert, J.D. Lambert, Gerald Lambert all of Pine Bluff; sister, Sandra Lambert of Ozark; two grandchildren, Austin Lambert (Heather), Haley Lambert (Bryce Rowan); and step-mother, Wilma Lambert of Pine Bluff. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Young’s.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Lisbon United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Hall and Rev. David Preston officiating. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
