Jackie was born on December 19, 1929 to Leo McClendon and Edrie Sharp McClendon Gryder. She was a beautician for over 50 years. She was a charter member of the Strong Bunko Club, where she played every month up to February this year when her health began to fail. Jackie was a member of New London Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronnie McClendon, a sister June Wilson and husband of 56 years James E. “Snapper” Gean.
She is survived a daughter, Dianne G. Wooten (O’Neil), sons David (Mary Lane) Gean and Dennis Gean (Gail) all of Strong, AR; grandchildren Heath (Jennifer) Gean of Farmerville, LA, Wendi (Terry) Laster of Strong, AR, Janet Scarlett of El Dorado, and Casey Wooten (Cindy) of Strong.
She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Dylan Laster (Shelby), Taylor Scarlett, Colby Gean, Wyatt Wooten, Payton Scarlett, Hope Wooten, Colton Laster, Jessie Gean and Avery Warren; a sister Anita Toney of Strong and sister-in-law Dorothy McClendon of Alvin Texas and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with a special cousin Bobbie Croft of Dayton, TX and her special friend Percene Fife of Strong; Jackie looked forward to their phone calls every morning and she considered members of New London Baptist Church as family members.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, .May 29, 2017 at New London Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May, 30, 2017 at New London Baptist Church with Bros. Robert Earl Ballard, Rickey Smith and Terry Burke officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery by Youngs Funeral Director.
