Jack David Netherland Sr. was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on April 25, 1941 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, he died unexpectedly at home on December 2, 2021 in Ouachita County, Arkansas at age 80.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, enlisting just after his high school graduation in 1959 and receiving an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 1972. He would go on to drive an eighteen wheeler for the next thirty years, most notably for Georgia Pacific Chemical in Crossett, AR. He was instrumental in revitalizing American Legion Post 111 in Crossett, serving as its commander for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years Lois Netherland (née Bailey); brother Bernon Netherland; brother and wife James and Linda Netherland; four sons and their wives Jack “David” and Patsy Netherland, Clint and Aharon Netherland, Wynn and Paula Netherland, and JB and Fallon Netherland; and nine grandchildren Allie, Jack, Tyler, Tripp, Kade, Peighton, Reagan, Emerson, and Jace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Effer Netherland, and one grandson, Jude Netherland.
