Dora was born July 30, 1925, in Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Martha D. and Horace L. Huff. The family moved to San Antonio in 1929. Dora considered herself blessed to grow up in a home that was filled with so much love and affirmation. She graduated from Baylor University, Waco, and she met and married her love, Dr. George E. Wilson, Jr. (Van) while working at an Air Force base hospital near San Antonio. They moved to Little Rock, AR, and Dearborn, MI, where Van pursued his residencies, and during which time they welcomed their three girls into the family. They settled in Shreveport in 1954.
Dora was a member of the Shreveport Medical Society Alliance, and she was a Girl Scout leader as their girls grew up. She also taught second grade and worked at Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Shreveport. She committed her life to her Lord at a young age and joyfully served in the prayer ministry at the church. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed traveling with them.
She was predeceased by her husband, son-in-law Jerry Boulware, grandson Van Boulware, brother Dr. Lloyd D. Huff and sister-in-law Naoma Huff.
She is survived by daughters Betty Watts (husband Bob), Martha Wilson, and Dorothy Boulware; grandchildren Joy Watts, Hayley Watts Pate (husband Anthony), and Hunter Boulware; and great-grandchildren Riley Claire Pate and James Robert Pate.
