Elwynn Lavon New, 81 of El Dorado, AR; died on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at John R. Williamson Hospice House. Born on October 16, 1937 in Dyess, AR; Elwynn was the son of John 'Pete' New and Katie Lorene Kennedy New. Elwynn retired as a supervisor from El Dorado Paper Bag Company. He was a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.
Elwynn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Mellinger New, and two brothers Jeryl New and Danny New.
Survivors are sons Mark Stephen New (Lisa) of El Dorado and Cliff Douglas New (Jenny) of Harmony Grove, AR; a brother Gary New (Kay) of Magnolia, AR; sisters-in-law, Peggy New of Junction City, AR and Celia New of Harrison, AR along with grandchildren; Josh New, Bethany Moore ( Matthew), Tamara Murray, and Caitlin Holifield; and great-grandchildren; Hunter Cheatham, J. T. New, Bentley Holifield and Micah Moore.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Young's Funeral Home.
Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Three Creeks Baptist Church with Rev. Dano Rainer officiating. Interment will follow at the Three Creeks Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
