Edith was born May 30, 1924 in El Dorado, to the late John Franklin “Bill” and Cora Irene (Hinson) Burrow. She married Fernie McGaugh December 25, 1945. Edith had a great love for music and demonstrated that by playing piano for many churches in the area as a young woman. She was a member of First Baptist Church in El Dorado for most of her life, serving there by playing piano for numerous choirs, and in the 4-5 year old Sunday school class. She also taught kindergarten for many years at First Baptist Church. Her spare time was filled with sewing, crocheting, gardening, playing the piano. She was a devoted wife for nearly 70 years, until Fernie preceded her in death in 2015. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother.
Mrs. McGaugh is survived by three daughters: Janean Taylor of Sherwood, Arkansas; Beverly Bellew and her husband, Chuck, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Lori Pyron and her husband, Rick, of Flippin, Arkansas; one son, Louis McGaugh and his wife, Valerie, of Bloomington, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister Mickey Adams of El Dorado; and two sisters-in-law: Helen Burrow of Livingston, Texas; and Estelle Baggett of El Dorado.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fernie; two brothers: Bill Burrow and Pete Burrow.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado; with funeral service following at 11:00 am with Bro. Rick Pyron officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens near El Dorado.
