Dorothy Marcelle Bailey

She was born December 12, 1921, in Marmaduke, AR, the youngest of eleven children of Daniel Sylvester and Annie Jenavarie Bradsher McBride. She worked for Walmart for 31 years and made many friends as she greeted them at the door. She was a long time member of the Hillsboro Street Church of Christ. She married Alston Boyd Bailey on October 31, 1942, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved butterflies and the color red.

She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband; her brothers-Clarence, Sterling, Glenn, Earl Wayne, Woodrow, Richard, and Clois; and her sisters-Grace, Anna, and Ethel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: James (Marsha) Bailey of Wilburton, OK; David (Nancy) Bailey of El Dorado: Stephen (Keitha) Bailey of Waxahachie, TX; and Judy Bailey of El Dorado. Her grandchildren are Ben (Jaime) Bailey, Josh (Sarah) Bailey, Sarah (John) Novick, Joel (Sarah) Bailey, Micah (Allison) Bailey, Erin Bailey, and Beau (Julianne) Bailey. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren: Beck, Briggs, Jemma, Jackson, Grace, Anna, Zoey, Brooks, Reese, and Lincoln Bailey.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Young’s funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Hillsboro Street Church of Christ with her sons officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ben Bailey, Josh Bailey, Joel Bailey, Micah Bailey, Beau Bailey and John Novick.
