Claud Gilbert Robinson, Jr., 89 of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born March 6, 1924, to Claud Gilbert Robinson, Sr. and Nellye Maude McKinnie Robinson in El Dorado, AR.
He married his high school sweetheart on December 19, 1948. Claud was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict and retired as a Commander in the Naval Reserves. He was an Eagle Scout and was active in the scouting program for many years. Claud was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Delta Sigma Phi. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado, where he served as an usher and greeter. Claud worked as an accountant and was a supervisor of the tax departments for Lion Oil and Murphy Oil.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Rick Lewis Robinson; and two sisters, Bobbie Marie Robinson, and Mary Nell Miller.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Geraldine “Gerry” Robinson of El Dorado; son, Scott Robinson and wife Vicki of Madison, AL; grandson, Andrew Robinson of Madison, AL; and granddaughter, Megan Robinson Faulkner and husband Thom of Ruston, LA.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Keith Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
