He worked as an operator for Great Lakes Chemical for 22 years and was of the Baptist faith. B.J. was a great man, loved by everyone. He was at his happiest in Calion, either riding the back roads or on the river.
Survivors include his wife, Nita Parker of El Dorado; daughter, Marla Welch (John) of El Dorado; three sons, Kenny Ray Parker (Michelle) of Benton, Donny Parker (Mona) of Jonesboro, AR, Todd Parker (Sonia) of Calion; brother, Johnny Douglas Parker (Joyce) of El Dorado; sister, Evelyn Mayfield of Little Rock; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at 110 King St. in Calion.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Calion Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Blackwell officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
