She was born October 14, 1934 to Alfred Vernon and Jeroline Wallace McGaugh in Union County, AR. She married James W. Berry on October 4, 1957. Betty was retired from the Union County Tax Collectors office, as Tax Collector. She was a member of Smackover First Assembly of God Church, and was an avid bowler.
Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Bobbie Langley and Ethel Jean Jackson; her brother-in-law, Julius Carelock; her dogs, Oscar and Cecil; and her cat, Snowball.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, James W. Berry; sister, Patsy Carelock; brother, Alfred Wayne "Buddy" McGaugh (Waunita) all of El Dorado; brother-in-laws, Jay Jackson of Nashville, TN, Donald Langley of Three Creeks, and John Berry (Udell) of El Dorado ; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Smackover Cemetery with Rev. Mark Stratton officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In keeping with the Center of Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings, we ask that while attending the graveside service, you wear a mask and practice social distancing.
