Born April 8, 1940 in Fordyce, he was the son of Orie M. "Bill" Cox and Angie Lee Sisson Cox. Mr. Cox had been employed at Warner Brown Hospital and the Medical Center of South Arkansas for 32 years.
Gene had served in the U. S. Army and attended Faith Assembly of God Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart.
Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, James Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Teressa Cox, a brother, Jesse R. Cox (Kaye) of Fayetteville, sisters, Linda Lindsey of Benton, AR and Rita Ponder (Lee) of Fayetteville, AR along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, December 18, 2018 at Young's.
Funeral services will be held in Young's Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 with Rev. Don Ashcraft officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
