After high school, he served in the United States Army, where his dedication and leadership skills helped him rise through the ranks to the position of staff sergeant. Following his military service, Ronald joined the San Diego Police Department. Concurrently, he pursued higher education and earned a master's degree in public administration. This accomplishment reinforced his career in law enforcement. He dedicated an impressive 35 years of his life to public service in the San Diego Police Department. Over the years, he distinguished himself within the department, ultimately achieving the rank of Lieutenant. After retiring from the SDPD, he worked part time doing tax work for H&R Block. He worked security for the San Diego Chargers and Padres at Petco Park. After 9/11, he did training classes for Homeland Security. His passion for his work extended beyond his role as an officer; he also actively participated in the Police Officers Association, advocating for the rights and wellbeing of his fellow officers.
In his personal life, Ronald found true happiness when he married Lorlei, the love of his life. Their partnership flourished over the 51 years they spent together, creating a lifetime of cherished memories until her passing in 2024.
Ronald enjoyed a variety of activities. He loved the thrill of skiing, riding motorcycles, and the artistry of classic cars. Traveling was another of his passions, allowing him and Lorlei to explore new places and create lasting memories together.
On March 12, 2025, Ronald Jon Seden passed away peacefully in San Diego, CA. He is survived by his brother Wayne Seden, daughter Sandy Abalos, son David Seden, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many, many relatives and friends who also love him dearly.
