Richard Dale Barnes was born in San Diego, CA on January 19, 1933, to Dale Perry Barnes and Lucille Stockfield Barnes. He passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023, in San Diego, CA. Richard was very proud of the fact that he was a San Diego native and part of the Southern California Life.
Richard graduated from San Diego High School (1950), and in 1961 graduated from San Diego State University with a BS Degree in Accounting. On October 13, 1962, he became a CPA in California. This was his lifelong career in which he succeeded and truly enjoyed.
While in High School, Richard became part of ROTC (Military Classes), for 3 years and decided to continue with the Army Reserves. He served Nine years with the Reserve, taking a variety of Military courses ( Anti-Aircraft, Artillery and Field) . Also, he spent two weeks every summer at Fort Irwin in Barstow CA. Richard reached the rank of Platoon Sergeant by the time his enlistment was over in 1959.
A lifelong sports fan devoted to the Aztecs, Padres, and Chargers whether they won or lost, A day out on his sailboat (CA-LO-DE) chasing the waves or a Trolley/ Train Trip anywhere were his favorite Pastimes. Richard also loved to have friends over for a game of Pool, a Drink and watch a game! What Memories!!
Survived by his wife, Patricia, Daughters; Carrie, Lori and Deanna, Stepdaughters; Lisa and Missy. He has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Service is at El Cajon Mortuary on April 29th, 2023, from 10am to 2pm.
