Patricia (Patti) Josephine Marinesi entered into eternal peace on October 13, 2019. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 6, 1946 to Vince and Violet Provenzano, the family moved to San Diego when Patti was a teenager. Patti graduated from Rosary High School.

On June 19, 1965, Patti and Lorenzo (Larry) Marinesi were united in marriage. As a devoted wife and mother, she is survived by daughters Michelle Moody (Ken) and Renee Brown (Rick), son Larry Marinesi (Gretchen), six grandchildren, sister MaryAnn La Russa, brothers Ross (Sally) Provenzano and Vince (Cherie) Provenzano, cousin Katherine Dunn, sister-in-law Phyllis Marinesi and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and other well-loved family members.

Family relationships meant everything to Patti; and in particular, her devotion to her grandchildren was extraordinary. She and Larry were married 50 years, and their marriage was a wonderful example to those around them. Patti stayed in touch with many friends made through her lengthy career in the banking industry as well.

She loved to travel, and took all of her children and their families on a cruise this year. Most recently she returned from Hawaii in September. Patti’s strength was exemplified by her courageous battle with cancer over the last four plus years, making every day count.

A funeral Mass will be held on October 30, 2019 at Mission de Alcala’s Saint Francis Chapel, San Diego, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patti’s memory to Christian Unified School District (2100 Greenfield Drive, El Cajon, CA 92019) or Kaiser Hospice (10992 San Diego Mission Road, Suite 3401, San Diego, CA 92108).
