Marilyn Maness Mehaffy

After graduating with a Ph.D. in English from the University of California at Riverside, Marilyn served as an assistant professor of English at Eastern New Mexico University. She was a proud mother to her sons Trey McDonald and Sean McDonald. She loved being “Granny” to her grandson Jacob McDonald, Trey’s son.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Her favorite place to visit in the United States was Yellowstone National Park, where she visited more than 25 times. She loved the Hotel Del Coronado and La Jolla, California.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and son Kyle Sean McDonald. She is survived by her son, Kilby Scott McDonald III (Trey), her daughter-in-law, Amanda Botzer, her grandson, Jacob Scott McDonald, her brother, Steve Maness, and her sister, Kay Barnebey.
