Dr Mansoor Jabro was surrounded by family when he passed away on Christmas Day. He was born in 1934 in the Chaldean community in Tel Keppe, Iraq. By age seventeen he had moved to Baghdad, Iraq where he received his BDS from the University of Baghdad, established a dental practice, and later married Salwa Hermes his wife of fifty-six years. They moved to the United States in 1965, first to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he received his MSD and DDS from the University of Nebraska. Then in 1970 the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he had a thirty-six year career teaching at Creighton University School of Dentistry and a private practice in periodontics. In retirement they made La Jolla, California home. Wherever he was, the doors to his home and office were always open. He was a son, brother, cousin, husband, father, and uncle to his family, and a friend and mentor to many. He was a teacher to thousands of students he helped graduate and a member of his church. A generous man, he loved music and food, and found joy in any opportunity to gather with others to celebrate life. He is survived by his wife Salwa, and sons Fabian, Andrew, and John. He is dearly missed.
He will be interred during a private service on Monday January 4th, please do not send flowers. A mass and celebration of life service will be scheduled when gatherings are possible.
