Joseph Edward Winters was born on May 15, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, and passed away on February 13, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Terry, 3 children, Joseph Winters, Jr., Cheryl Jost, and Jennifer Winters, 2 step-children, Tammy Long and Ken Mitchell, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a sister, Florence Suplicki. Joe, as his friends and family knew him, used to say he had “itchy feet” and traveled with his family several times back and forth across the country before landing in Riverside, California. He lived in Riverside until he transferred to El Cajon as a District Manager for H&R Block in 1983. He worked for them until he retired in 1997. He resided in Spring Valley until his death. He was 85.
Joe was a loyal and loving husband, father, uncle and grandfather. His favorite times were when he was camping with all the family, playing dominoes and clowning with his beloved son-in-law, Terry Long. In his early years he was an avid fisherman. He loved to work with wood and was an expert furniture maker in his spare time. In his later years you could find him with a book open on his lap with a small glass of his favorite scotch or maybe a dish of ice cream. God speed, we will miss you dearly.
Arrangements under the direction of EI Cajon Mortuary & Cremation Service, El Cajon, California.
