Harold George Goetz, a beloved husband, father, and man of integrity, passed away on June 9, 2024, in San Diego, CA. He was born on November 27, 1934, in South Dakota, to his loving parents, Pete Goetz and Ludwina Goetz.

Harold's life was one filled with love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Goetz, but is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Hildegard Cecilia Goetz, his daughters Sybille Hoppa and Tammy Smoot, and his son Terry Harold Goetz.

Harold and Hildegard's love story began at the German Club of El Cajon, where they met and embarked on a lifelong journey together. Their marriage was a testament to the enduring power of love and partnership.

A man of many talents, Harold pursued his education up to high school and served in the Army, a period that instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life. In his professional life, Harold and his wife embarked on a unique venture, buying fixer-uppers and remodeling them for two years before selling them, showcasing his creativity and dedication to hard work.

Harold's presence in the community was marked by his unwavering faith, as he was a devout Catholic who attended church every Sunday. His membership in various organizations and his active participation in community events spoke volumes about his commitment to service and connection.

One of Harold's greatest passions was horses. From a young age, he loved and nurtured Palominos, raising and training them with care and dedication. He continued to ride horses until he was 82 years old, finding solace and joy in their companionship.

Described as the best father, husband, and man by those who knew him best, Harold's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
