Jerry was strong in his faith in Jesus Christ and while attending church he served as an elder, Junior Church Teacher, and AWANA leader. He spent many hours memorizing scripture and he made up many scripture songs that he taught to the boys. He also played his trombone in the church band.
His love for music also led him to play in the orchestra for Christian Community Theater where every summer they performed atop Mount Helix.
When Jerry was asked what he wanted to be remembered for his reply was simple. He wanted to be remembered because he helped people. It is safe to say that he accomplished that goal. Well done, Jerry.
He gave a lot to his family, community, and anyone who needed his help. He will be deeply missed.
