Continuing to pray for the family and friends of Dr. Parcel.  A truly "gentle man" and a gifted and wonderful Dentist, who made going to the Dentist a "stress-free" experience.  Rest in Peace, Dr. Parcel.

Dear Parcel Family,
I wish to extend my condolences to you all for your loss.  Dr. Parcel was very special to me.  I was in need a of a Dentist a long, long time ago, my automobile was broken and I was student at SDSU, but had a bike.  Dr. Parcel's practice at that time had an office in La Mesa and it was within bicycling distance from my house.  I still remember him saying to me after examining my teeth, Willy, Willy, Willy what are we going to do with you, I spent the next many Thursday afternoons in his office getting my cavities, crowns and what not fixed and cleaned.  That was circa 1976 or 1977, I been with him ever since.  I had not known that Dr. Parcel was retiring, I went into my regularly scheduled dental cleaning and impression for a new bite guard in December of last year and did not see him that day.  I did however have an opportunity to see him and wish him well in retirement on December 7, 2022 when pick up my mouth guard.  He took very good care of me, and I will miss him dearly.  Debbie, I am glad I met you at the office during covid, when you came in to help out.

Doctor Parcel was a great dentist, he knew I was a baby and hatred having work done. But again he took care of just about all my teeth for many years
And did his best not to hurt me. I will truly miss his.

Gary was born in Iowa, but made for California.  His Iowa roots and California style were evident in the pick-up truck he (at least once) owned.

Gary was a guy that had the heart that required a lot of children to be able to fully express his love.  

Gary liked the St. Louis Cardinals as a kid, but he long-term loyalty was with the San Diego Padres.  Too bad they did not win a world series while he was still here.  

Throughout his life, faith in a higher power was difficult for him to achieve, but made his peace with God in the end.  

Gary was great with his hands and had a brilliant mind.  Dentistry was a perfect profession for him.  50 years of practice.  Very remarkable.  

Gary had a lot of friends, probably all over the world.  George Smith, a guy he met while growing up in the hood, was his best and life-long friend.   I imagine they are happy to be reunited now.

Gary was never able to surf like his oldest son, Chris.  I might even say he was a marginal body surfer.

Gary's goal was to see as much of the world as possible.  He was able to travel to a lot of places in a life-long-string of one week vacations.  

I think Gary probably ate a lot of unhealthy food when Debbyee was not looking.

Although, I had three brothers, Gary was the only one I truly got to know.  If the other brothers are even a little like him, I got pretty lucky when it came to brothers.
